These families have catastrophic health policies with very high deductibles and therefore can’t afford see their doctor because of out-of-pocket costs. The poverty rate in Southwestern Adams County is almost 13% (with some areas as high as 29%). Some 47,000 of our neighbors are in need of help with food, clothing and everyday necessities. It’s estimated that more than 20,000 children in this area are living below poverty level. We need volunteers and donations (food and money) to address these important needs.
